This was once our mainstay. About 30% of what ends up in the final mix came out of this beastie. An ASR-10 replaced an EPS 16+ about 18 months back and subsequently died horribly. The EPS-M was used during the composition process to trial found sounds and sample on the fly when required as well as providing extra outputs for outboard processing but now sees only occasional service.
They're both antiquated by today's standards but the ASR, in particular, stands up well today with its three effects busses and clean sound. It saved us from having to jump through hoops during the process of distancing samples from their original sources, mainly because we could either use the effects as we sequence or resample sounds through the effects processors and re-save them.
Great pieces of kit.
